Our products have over 20 years of North East English history behind them. The evolution of the Skin Salveation range is perhaps not the most traditional approach, yet we like to think that there was no better testing ground than the industrial everyday life of North-East England.
A group of miners in a small County Durham town with inflamed skin – due to the nature of their work in the coal mines – discovered a natural combination of ingredients that soothed and aided their skin problems.
The effect this natural remedy had was startling, while working in one of the most skin-hostile environments, the miners had managed to control the adverse effects that their work had on skin conditions.
Word soon spread amongst family, friends and the community, who soon discovered the mixture helped a range of conditions; eczema and dermatitis among them.
The phenomenon was brought to the attention of Dr Stephen Randle who with Dr Stephen Drew, conducted extensive trials with their patients which proved conclusive that the soap formulation was having a uniquely beneficial effect on even the most extreme cases of chronic eczema.
A team of expert chemists were enrolled to analyse the formulation and were able to modify them to be used as, most importantly, a moisturiser and then other complimentary products lines all combating eczema effectively.
Based in Alnwick, Northumberland, our team, led by David Waterston Msc, who has spent his professional life with a world leading healthcare company, continues to look at adapting our product range for use in busy lives.
David is also employed to analyse other products that come into the skincare market place, to see if their product claims are realistic.
